Advertising | Bread&Butter
During the week I work as a freelance Senior Designer for different advertising agencies across London. I have worked for TBWA, Media Arts Lab, Sapient Nitro, Selfridges, R/GA, VCCP, Holler, Fabric WW, Cheil, ForeverBeta and Geometry Global. I have worked on a
range of different clients
including HSBC, Budweiser, Converse, Samsung, KFC, Nike, Tesco, Apple, Lurpak and many more.
Branding | Interest
My interest lies in branding and strategy. Thinking about the essence of a brand, what the tone of voice is and how this can be communicated through a visual identity. I mostly do this for personal clients, smaller agencies and I also like working with start ups and non-profit organisations. I like to be involved in the whole process and work closely together with the client.
Photography | Pleasure
I have always been passioned about photography. I started out in the events and music scene in 2008 in the Netherlands. Since then I worked a few years as a photographer next to my studies. I also did some shoots for brands like Jack Wills, Converse and Onitsuka Tiger. But I quickly realised that photography for me is a personal thing, so that is when I decided to only photograph for personal pleasure and for friends.
Freelance | Passion
Since I went freelance I have become very passionate about running my own business and sharing my knowledge with other people. I noticed that a lot of my peers find it difficult to dive into the world of paying taxes and the endless HMRC website. So this year I started a blog called Nikanika.com, focussed on my life as a freelancer and trying to explain all the nitty gritty of running a limited company in a clear and visual. style
I am Rosa Koolhoven a freelance designer living and working in London and sometimes Amsterdam. Originally from the Netherlands I
